A day at #Dia museum, Beacon, NY. It is easily one of my favorite museums.
Recently, New York Photo Festival had an exhibition titled SANDY: Destination, Document, Drive with photos chronicling the devastation left by hurricane Sandy late 2012. I submitted five photos but never received a confirmation as to whether or not the images were accepted. Weeks later, and after the exhibition ended, to my pleasant surprise I received an email from NYPF with a list of participating photographers including my name. Below is one of the featured images I submitted.
August 2011. Can’t quite explain it, but I’ve always been attracted to the texture of clouds. I took this video this past August en route from Pittsburgh to San Diego via Dallas, on the Pittsburgh-Dallas leg. The plane was sandwiched between two layers of clouds. The resulting texture formed organic abstract painting. The tip of the engine is visible at the lower left corner.
